THE STD THAT CAN MAKE A WOMAN BARREN FOR LIFE: HEALTH

The Venereal Disease that Could Make You Barren for Life: PID

So ladies have been accusing the witches in their districts, the pots of alchemy their grandfathers

buried in their compounds and the curses transcending ancestors for their inability to bear . Wait a minute! There is one shocking news we all need to hear. The witches and ancestors can’t be blamed for everything, at least not our own sheer negligence. In some cases, if not most cases, we are still to be blamed for our shortcomings. Being barren is simply not a good thing and Mrs. Bee’s story tells us more about this.

Mrs. Bee was a very beautiful lady, and just this morning she had dressed up for another visit to the diagnostic medical Centre which a consultant gynecologist had directed her to with a well filled request form. Very apprehensive she was, very bitter and eyes widened by insomnia. Well the tiredness of her face was buried in her deep foundation, and so she drove with all that hurt to see the medical lab scientist.it had been five years since she got married to her husband and they had no child at all. She had gone from one x-ray to another and ultra sound to another ultrasound to detect the problem with her, but yet she was not satisfied with what she got. She hoped this would yet proffer the solution that would give her respite. Her test was to cost yet another whopping N20,000. These series of test had almost cleaned her out of her essence of living. She held her hands to her heart as it palpitated in anxiety while she listened to the breaking of another piece of news that would feel her eyes with tears for the deeds in the past.

“you have a severe case of PID. That is Pelvic inflammatory disease. It means your fallopian tube is swollen,” the lab scientist confirmed.  That was when her walls came crumbling down like the tower of Babylon, leaving her emotions bare and vulnerable. The lab scientist was deeply empathetic and he was moved to ask if she knew how this happened to her. She began “my boyfriend infected me with gonorrhea seven years ago and he didn’t bother to tell me he had gonorrhea until, I gave it to my next boyfriend, who went haywire when he discovered he had it. He confronted me in rage and that was when I knew I had had the disease since my last boyfriend. He broke up with me calling me a whore. I tried treating the STD on my own with wide spectrum antibiotics which proffered temporary solution till I came to discover this PID years into my marriage.  When I did, It had already caused me my fallopian tube,” she wept bitterly.

Such a pity! She would have to go back to the consultant gynecologist who directed her to the diagnostic centre. Hopefully, some useful information in her result sheet might help her doctor determine the possible solution to her childlessness.

That’s very pathetic and Mrs. Bee  please accept my heartfelt sympathy. It couldn’t be any worse than it already is with your situation. And here we are again with another jaw breaking name for a disease: pelvic inflammatory disease. This disease is a complication often caused by some STDs, like chlamydia and gonorrhea. Other infections that are not sexually transmitted can also cause PID.

Ladies below age 25 are more susceptible to PID than ladies above that age.  Having many sexual partners and sleeping with a partner who has many sexual partners also increase one’s susceptibility to PID. Going completely    untreated or partially treating an STD without a physician’s prescription will cause the infection to deteriorate. Douching and using intrauterine device for birth control also contribute to the infection’s manifestation.

Nevertheless, there is a ray of hope for young women who are sexually active. If you are free from this infection, it would be wise you desist from oral, anal and vaginal sex, but if your hormone is raging out of control and girl, you wouldn’t be able to think properly for a whole week if you didn’t get laid, I would suggest you involve yourself in a strict monogamous relationship or better still, wear your rubbers.

Check out for this vital signs if you have  been engaged in an unprotected sex:  pain in your lower abdomen, fever, an unusual discharge with a bad odor from your vagina, pain or bleeding when you have sex, burning sensation when you urinate or bleeding between periods. Make sure you seek help from a physician as regards to your health and don’t be too shy to explain your predicament to a medical personnel. If PID is discovered in its nascent stage, it can be completely controlled, however, if the PID graduates to another level, the complications caused by the disease cannot be undone after treatment must have been successful. This inevitably results to infertility.

So ladies before you say yes to that next guy waiting to maul you up sexually, do your mathematics, be sure you are hundred percent protected. Wear your rubbers so that you won’t have the innocent witches to blame for your bareness.  Remember your health and womanhood should be paramount.
So here is to us, may our lives be less complicated with all the STDs that debilitate  our health.
Cheers

How to use 'many a' and 'a great deal of' in a sentence. How to pronounce 'impasse'

Good morning KIB  earthlings. Lets get down to brass tacks. Let's look at the use of verbs. Yesterday someone brought a statement to me and enquired if it were correct. 'many a fellow knows the truth' Many a driver ploughs this road daily' 'Many a teacher doesn't know how to  English'. All these sentences are correct. According to Oxford dictionary, Many a: ( formal: always used with a singular noun and a singular verb) means a large number of something. E.g many a young person has experimented with drugs.   So,  don't pluralise anything in the sentence because there is an 'A' already. 'Many a teachers like to flog their students ' is wrong. 'A great deal' How do you use 'a great deal'? A great deal takes a singular verb. E.g A great deal of bananas is planted in the north. 'A great deal' takes a singular verb.  Finally,  the pronunciation of impasse is /'ampa:s/ Not (impas) It's not Enem...

Is it 'off head', 'off hand' 'off pat' or 'by heart'?

I love all the new students in my class. You guys are awesome by the way. 😀😀 Today. I want to give you a better expression for saying that 'you know something very well'. #Offhead? There is nothing like offhead. 'I know it off head' is wrong. #Offhand? What does offhand mean? It mean without previous thought or consideration. Just like saying 'on the spur of moment' , 'immediately', 'spontaneously'. So, do you just know something offhand? No...not at all. You can say something offhand, do anything offhand but then it seems weird to say ' I know the answer offhand'. It is normal 'to say the answer offhand'. Do you get my drift? People don't know anything spontaneously, rather, they  say what they already know, spontaneously. Now to the final expression #HaveSomethingOffPat? It means to know something or be able to do something perfectly; be perfect master of something . So rather tha...
