Good morning beautiful students of KIB school.
I am glad to see your beautiful faces.
Before I get down to brass tacks on today's class, let me give the correct English expression for this Igbo word.
Atita Nwa ngwere.
It literally means 'The bite of a baby lizard'😂 but then it explains a condition which is prevalent in humans.
Atitanwangwere a the tingling sensation one gets when the body is recovering from numbness.
It can be painful, but a lot of times it just isn't.
Muscle spasm and muscle pulls are usually excruciatingly painful.
English folks call that condition 'pins and needles'.
I also found out last night from medical doctors that the appropriate medical term is 'Paresthesia'
Paresthesia refers to a burning or prickling sensation that is usually felt in the hands, arms, legs, or feet, but can also occur in other parts of the body. The sensation, which happens without warning, is usually painless and described as tingling or numbness, skin crawling, or itching.
Now, If you from other tribes please tell us what name 'pins and needles ' is called in your indigenous language😀.
Finally
'Air' and 'ear' have separate pronunciations
Air is pronounced
/ eÉ™/
Ear is pronounced as / ɪə/
/ eÉ™/ air
Bear, wear, care, stare, where, there, their, dare fair, pare, rare, prayer.
All these words I mentioned are pronounced with 'air'
So if you pronounce where , wear, there and care as 'wia , wia, dia, kia ' then please change from that pronunciation.
/ ɪə/ ear.
Beer, clear, near, fear, hear, gear, mere, pear, rear, sear, .
Finally.
There is one word that has two pronunciations.
Tear.
1. Tear (to pull something apart in pieces.) is pronounced as / teÉ™/ like (t-air).
Tear (a drop of clear salty liquid from the eyes ) is pronounced as
/tɪə/ like this (t-ear)
Please try and learn these words okay.
The class with King Ifey is done and dusted.
Do have a lovely day ahead.
*walks out of the class*
*peeps through the window and laughs hysterically*
Chei, who even told some of you the answer to 'atitanwangwere'?
Anyway see you later.
Toilet-loo
Oh, sorry, I mean.
Toodle-loo😀
That sensation! Whenever I'm on a journey, and I sit in a tight place. I think the stop of blood circulation around the are causes that feeling.
