Do you say 'talk more of' or 'talk less of'? Also, how to pronounce 'parliament'

My beautiful KIB students, today,  you will be happy learning the correct way to express yourselves.

Nigerians have a way of changing typical English expressions to suit them.

Someone still had to argue with me that the English expression 'Better the devil you know than the devil you don't "  is so wrong and does not make sense.  He opines that angel should be there.  He forgets that English can be quite illogical to our Nigerian minds. Lol.

People say things like.

'He has not even proposed talk more of walking down the aisle with me'

'He does not have a car,  talk less a house"

Well these two expressions or collocations are not common in British and American English.

Here are the universal conventional English collocations for Nigerian English's  'Talk more of' and 'Talk less of',

#LetAlone

'Let alone' is  used to indicate that something is far less likely or suitable than something else already mentioned.

E.g
"he was incapable of leading a bowling team, let alone a country"

#MuchLess
'Much less 'used to introduce something as being even less likely than something already mentioned.

E.g
"what woman would consider a date with him, much less a marriage?"

So where ever 'talk more' or 'talk less' are likely to appear in your statement,  please substitute with  'Let alone'  and 'much less'.

'Let alone' and 'much less' are synonymous expressions.

Also 'still less' can be sued

Finally , on pronunciation

Bomber is pronounced (bomer)
O has the vowel  sound in 'not'

Plumber is  pronounced (plumer)
u has the vowel sound in 'love'

Parliament is  not pronounced as
(Par lia ment)

/ˈpɑːləm(ə)nt/
Pronounce it as
/PARLAment/.

Don't be opening your mouth to say... Lia.. Lia.  Okay?

Share your notes with friends.
You know how a lot of people Don't know these collocations. Help them to know it.  Be a good student okay

Someone should help me get my projector to the staff room when you are done writing.
