5000 children die annually in Enugu due to malnourishment from being fed less milk than normal

There are a  lot of things we may be neglecting in our lives: good nutrition is one of them. A survey conducted recently  has been publicized .

The survey states that 15 children die daily due to malnutrition. 5000 children loose their lives to malnutrition on annual basis. Now that is a whopping number  of deaths for children in a year. it means 5000 mothers loose their children yearly.

It might interest you to know that mothers have also played a crucial role in helping the figures  rise, due to a decrease in breast feeding among women of this generation.

They have little knowledge of the vitality which that life-giving substance can do for a child. Breast milk has been known to proffer certain level of immunity to children protecting them from diseases and allergies.

The state ministry of health is currently preaching ''exclusive  breastfeeding''
Let us pray it does not fall on deaf ears of our ladies

Guardian has the details.
