Remember the  singles  'Bones' by Degoldberg which debuted sometime during April of 2017? Well, a new and earth-shattering vibe  Which is laced with mainstream symphonies of Afrohippop has hit the internet. It comes with all the pastiches of contemporary southern rap, but this time, a unique flavour that is unprecedented was birthed from the very flexible voice of Degoldberg.   It is the first rap I have ever heard done in the Ikwere language. This new song is titled 'THOMAS' It has become an early morning symphony for the people of Port Harcourt. The energy in the song is enough to wake all your adrenaline and spur you to be excited and happy through out the morning hours. Every single word in the song is a hook that can never depart from you. The song talks about the need the trust God without reservations.  It was rendered  in a very hilarious yet didactic manner . It reeks of street credibility. A comical blend of the Ikwere lan...

Would you like to dance  to a beautiful songs that you can wind your waist to in that classic traditional African style with your handkerchief and a big grin? Listen to Werelo Bari by Nora J who earlier this year released her single 'Tuolera'  'Werelo Bari' gives the indigenous Port Harcourt  sound a more contemporary  feel. The song is partly sung in both the English and the Ogoni language. Well, the part that grips me so much is the part where she sings in the Ogoni language. There is something very magical that makes you want to grab an imaginary handkerchief and begin to dance to the rhythm. Happiness courses through my vein as I listen to it , you know why?  The song is an expression of gratitude  to God. I am God's love. Ife Oluwa,  Ifunanya Chukwu. In Ogoni, they say,  Werelo Bari. So, download the song and listen. Get infected with unbridled happiness and share with your friends. Download the song right here

Afro beat?  Christian lyrics? This is so much fun. Here is Gift Bank's new single titled Wonder. It has massive pastiches of Fela's Afro vibes. It will make you feel as though Fela were singing  to God. Those guitars tunes are so reminiscent of the 80s Fela vibes.  Talk about the back up singers Well,  they did a pretty good job. Let Eledumare turn your life around with this one. There is something playful about beat.  You just want to prance and pose and be photographed while the song puts a big grin on your mouth. Gift Bank is an up and coming act. Support him. You have got to love his dramatic baritone and the way he played with his notes in  a more Afrocentric kind of way. Gather around guys. I am still being stunned at how good music keeps gravitating towards me. Port Harcourt city may have been  over-glamorised,  but the creativity found in  her dwellers are beginning to seem incomparable. I may not be an ardent listener of rap music,   but heck I know good music when I see one. Bones by Degoldberg is a Christian rap song that will spur your adrenaline to do something great and spontaneous  for God. Here is the thrilling part of the song. I really can't keep it to myself. It started off with that 'Rolling in the Deep' kind of feel to it, and then  the powerful voice of Degoldberg  melded with it. It is a testosterone and spirit filled rap song which beckons on  dry bones to rise again. It gets even more emotional as the classical feel of the song becomes even more prominent  close  to the end of the song. You can only imagine how God is supernaturally waking dry bones and instant...

Beautiful symphonies abound in the city of Port Harcourt. Ucee Nwachukwu is a vibrant gospel artiste in Nigeria and he has released a new song for your listening pleasure called 'Everlasting love' It is a song that ministers to us about the Everlasting love of God. It was dexterously rendered  with a dramatic and powerful tenor that has this beautiful growl to its texture. The emotions built up in the song can easily overwhelm you. The production is quite good. A mixture of strings and some traditional percussion. A classic example of contemporary Nigerian gospel music. Download Everlasting Love by Ucee Nwachukwu Get the lyrics  here

The first time I listened to this song, I actually didn't know what to expect. Cece kings already looks beautiful and I wondered if her voice could sound beautiful as well. More importantly, I wondered if the producer did a good job. Then I press play and symphonies began to waft through. 'It is just starting' I said to myself. Then, I relaxed to savour the song. Then I was weak, then I felt goose pimples, then my eyes began to well up . I wasn't too sure if it was  the simple lyrics or her voice and the modulations she had to conquer as she sang into the soprano's stratosphere. It was magic. Cece Kings is really awesome and she is another big thing in  Nigeria gospel scene. Download her song and listen to it Download Beautuful by Cece Kings here

I present to you one of Nigerian's finest up-and-coming gospel artiste. He has  many songs to his credit,  but the songs I want you all to listen to are these three. Truth Potter and Emimimo. These songs have this indescribable beauty and quality  about it.  They are all beautiful ballads with awesome digital sounds that's makes me even wonder who produced the songs. GUC has, in his voice,  a sword that pierces the soul. Download Truth here The song titled Truth will make you fall in love  with jesus. GUC's voice reminds of Jonathan Mcreynold in this song, although  his voice is stronger in texture than Mcreynold's voice. His song is quite as inspiring as Jonathan Mcreynold's.  Download Potter Here. Potter has been my favourite due to the flute that reminds me of Chinese Epic film of people falling in love and fighting war in some vast desert like that. LOL. When I listen to Potter,  I see an angel playing ...

King Ifey's review I can't explain why I find immense solace in this song. It  has spoken to me in ways I can't imagine. It helps me to reinforce the fact that I am a Christian...a being that strives really hard to be Christ-like, consistently swimming against currents of the world, jumping out of that band wagon and treading that solitary path. While on that path, I realise how close you are to me and how void I would've been without you.

When you need to set your spirit free and dance to the almighty in the most carefree manner with which David danced,  then, this song is what you have to dance to.

Download here. When the love of God,  like an arrow,  pierces your heart; you'll bleed immense favour and bless the heart of people around you.

When the angels sing 'Glory and Honour', our heavenly father luxuriates in that atmosphere. He radiates peace, joy and healing from within.  Another song of the angels has finally hit the earth and I promise you guys.  It is the type of song that you can easily get besotted with.  No doubt,  the song came with heavy anointing, with the lyrics being a perfect fusion of English and Akwaibom.  It is a song of worship perfectly woven in a way that can minister to your heart and thrill your ears with  mellifluous sounds.  McEver has a knack of singing in that stratosphere where the Holy spirit is awaken and the heart is pierced. The voice is powerful, and inclined to performing heartfelt mellisma. SPkeys  did a great job at rendering the song with the best of strings and percussion. This song is simply divine. Do have a listen and tell us what you think.  At the moment,  I shall plug back my headset and drown ...

Connecting with a song is usually not easy, but when it eventually happens, your life will never be the same again. There is something particularly strong  about the emotions imbued in us through songs. Kelvin's Bianule will leave you with teary eyes and heart full of joy after you've had a listen. When you've been through dire strait, and by some stroke of grace, you were  saved from being drowned by eventualities, this song will pierce your heart and illicit a comforting kind of emotion. You begin to understand the steadfastness of the father who Lives amidst the sky with earth being his footstool. Chukwu bi nigwe ogodo ya na akpu nala. You will be prodded by instinct to let out a song of praise, joining the chorus to sing 'bianule what the lord has done' The blind see, the deaf hear, the crippled walk, the sad become happy, the leper is made whole again. The beat is calming but you can still sway to it anyway. The song ...
